Dear SkyBitz Customer,

Earlier today our satellite provider, LightSquared, has informed us of a solar event which created an automatic system safeguard as a measure to protect the satellite. Communication with the satellite is still intact. The recovery procedures are estimated to take 23 - 36 hours. That process is lengthy and involves repositioning the satellite to point at the Earth over the coming hours and the payload will have to be turned back on and reinitialized. During this time, no GLS positions will be available. Once the satellite is back up, observation traffic will be high and SkyBitz will monitor the situation very closely in order to recover from the situation as quickly as possible.
