The system paid for itself well within 3 months by effectively managing off-site productivity.  Kris Sehdev, Financial Controller for Superior receives daily reports from the TrimWeb GPS system and looks for extreme cases of vehicle and driver idle time.  Sehdev explained that Superior wants to be fair to their employees and provide a good working environment while being responsible to the bottom-line.

After efforts were made towards employee awareness, the average engine idle time reduced from 1 hour to approximately 6 minutes.  This reduction saved the company in fuel and allowed Superior to adhere to city anti-idling initiatives.

The GPS system is critical to Superior for effectively managing emergency service calls.  The service manager can quickly see on his screen the location and status of any of his vehicles.  He can send a service request to the mobile data terminal (MDT) of the most appropriate vehicle.  With the push of a button on the MDT, the driver can confirm the request.  Communication is efficient and reliable. 

Superior also uses the GPS system to help clarify billing disputes related to arrival and departure times.
 
According to Kris Sedhev, he cannot imagine any service company not having GPS tracking since you cannot properly coordinate service calls and control costs without it.
